Every site quotes a different full stack developer salary and none of them are technically wrong. The Glassdoor median across all experience levels is around ₹7 LPA. The Instahyre data for mid-level developers at product companies shows ₹18 to 35 LPA. Both are accurate. They are describing different slices of the same market.
The slice you end up in comes down to your tech stack, the company you join, and how you interview. That last part is the one you can actually prepare for. Intervue.io connects you with senior engineers for one-on-one mock interviews so you go into your next interview knowing what is working and what is not. Visit intervue.io.
Salary by Experience Level
Fresher (0 to 1 year): ₹3.5 to 6 LPA at most companies. Freshers with a strong MERN or MEAN portfolio and at least one deployed project tend to land at ₹5 to 7 LPA. Freshers with only coursework and no real code tend to land at the bottom or not at all at product companies.
Junior (1 to 3 years): ₹5 to 9 LPA across most roles. At product companies, ₹8 to 14 LPA. The gap at this level is almost entirely skill-driven. A junior developer who owns a feature end to end and can talk about the architectural decisions earns more than one who implements tickets without context.
Mid-level (3 to 5 years): ₹9 to 16 LPA at most companies. At product companies and funded startups, ₹14 to 28 LPA. At FAANG India, ₹25 to 45 LPA. This is the level where the company type gap becomes most dramatic.
Senior (5 to 8 years): ₹16 to 28 LPA across most companies. At top product companies like Zepto, Meesho, Razorpay, and Flipkart, ₹25 to 45 LPA. At FAANG India, ₹35 to 60 LPA.
Lead and architect (8+ years): ₹28 to 50 LPA at most companies. Top product companies and FAANG India push ₹50 to 80 LPA for strong leads who can own an entire product surface technically.
Company Type Is the Real Variable
This does not change across any of the tech roles on this site. Company type explains more salary variation than experience level does.
IT services companies (TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, HCLTech) hire the largest volume of full stack developers in India. Freshers start at ₹3.5 to 5 LPA. Mid-level engineers earn ₹8 to 14 LPA. Senior engineers push ₹16 to 24 LPA. The work is client-project-driven. The pay has a ceiling.
Indian product companies and unicorns (Flipkart, Meesho, Swiggy, Razorpay, Zepto, CRED, PhonePe) are where the real money is for full stack work in India. Freshers start at ₹7 to 12 LPA with strong profiles. Mid-level engineers earn ₹14 to 28 LPA. Senior engineers earn ₹28 to 50 LPA. ESOP value at senior levels pushes total compensation higher.
Specific company ranges sourced from AmbitionBox and Naukri FY 2025-26: Zepto pays ₹18 to 40 LPA for mid-to-senior full stack roles. Meesho pays ₹16 to 38 LPA. Razorpay and PhonePe are in a similar band.
GCCs (Walmart Global Tech, Target India, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank) sit between Indian product companies and FAANG on pay. Mid-level earns ₹16 to 30 LPA. Senior earns ₹28 to 50 LPA.
FAANG India (Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta) pays the highest but the interview bar is a different category from everything else. Mid-level full stack roles earn ₹30 to 50 LPA. Senior roles earn ₹40 to 70 LPA. Staff-level engineers push above ₹80 LPA.
Tech Stack Affects Your Salary More Than Most People Expect
Not all full stack experience is priced the same. The market has clear preferences.
MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) is the most in-demand combination right now. Mid-level MERN developers at product companies earn ₹12 to 22 LPA. Senior MERN developers earn ₹22 to 40 LPA. The demand comes from the startup ecosystem, which runs heavily on JavaScript.
MEAN stack (same as MERN but Angular instead of React) pays comparably but with slightly less demand at product companies. More relevant at enterprise companies and GCCs.
Full stack Java (Spring Boot backend, React or Angular frontend) is the dominant stack at large enterprises, BFSI, and many GCCs. Mid-level Java full stack engineers earn ₹14 to 25 LPA at product companies. Senior engineers earn ₹25 to 45 LPA.
Python full stack (Django or FastAPI backend, React frontend) is increasingly common at data-heavy companies and fintech startups. Salaries are comparable to MERN at equivalent experience levels.
The AI premium is real. Full stack developers who can integrate AI features, work with LLM APIs, and build AI-assisted product surfaces are earning ₹3 to 5 LPA more than peers at the same experience level who cannot. This is a genuine market shift.
City Differences
Bengaluru leads for full stack developer salaries. The national average for full stack is pulled down significantly by the volume of IT services roles in smaller cities. In Bengaluru, mid-level full stack engineers at product companies earn ₹15 to 30 LPA. Senior engineers earn ₹28 to 55 LPA.
Hyderabad is competitive, with strong demand from Amazon, Microsoft, and a growing product company presence.
Delhi NCR (Gurugram and Noida) is good for enterprise and GCC full stack roles. Mid-level pays ₹14 to 25 LPA at product companies.
Mumbai pays well for BFSI full stack work. Fintech companies and banking-sector engineering teams in Mumbai pay ₹18 to 35 LPA at mid-level.
Pune and Chennai are below Bengaluru but growing.
Monthly Take-Home Reference
At ₹6 LPA: roughly ₹40,000 to 43,000 per month.At ₹12 LPA: roughly ₹77,000 to 82,000 per month.At ₹20 LPA: roughly ₹1.2 to 1.3 lakh per month.At ₹30 LPA: roughly ₹1.75 to 1.85 lakh per month.At ₹50 LPA: roughly ₹2.8 to 3 lakh per month.
Variable pay, performance bonuses, and ESOPs add significantly at product companies from mid-level onward.
The Interview Is Where You Decide Which Range You Land In
Full stack developer interviews at product companies test you across multiple areas simultaneously: DSA in coding rounds, system design for how you think about scaling what you build, JavaScript and framework-specific questions, and your ability to own a feature end to end technically. Interviewers at product companies specifically probe whether you can reason about the full picture, not just write frontend or backend code.
Most candidates are prepared for one area and weak on another. The ones who land at the top of the range have practiced all of them under interview conditions, not just reviewed them.
At Intervue.io, full stack mock interviews are one-on-one with engineers from product companies and FAANG who give you specific feedback on exactly where your gaps are.
