Capgemini Salary in India: Analyst, Star, Senior Analyst and Beyond

Capgemini is one of the most searched salary questions every placement season. The confusion is understandable. You will see numbers ranging from ₹3.2 LPA to ₹7.5 LPA described as "Capgemini fresher salary" on the same results page. Both are accurate. They are describing different analyst grade bands that Capgemini actually uses.

This guide gives you the real numbers, clearly separated by grade, role, and experience. No conflation, no aspirational rounding.

If you are preparing for a Capgemini interview or planning your move to a higher-paying company from Capgemini, Intervue.io connects you with real engineers for one-on-one mock interviews with specific, actionable feedback. Visit intervue.io.

The Three Fresher Tracks at Capgemini

Unlike TCS or Infosys which use distinct named programs, Capgemini structures fresher hiring around analyst grade bands. Which grade you land in depends on your assessment performance and campus.

Analyst (A4 grade, mass hire): ₹4 to ₹4.25 LPA. This is the most common fresher entry point. The in-hand monthly salary is approximately ₹28,000 to ₹34,000 after deductions. Glassdoor submissions from late 2025 confirm ₹4 LPA as the consistent offer for A4 Analyst freshers in Pune and Bengaluru. This is the standard offer for the majority of engineering graduates joining Capgemini through campus drives.

Star Analyst: ₹5.75 LPA. A middle tier for candidates who clear a higher cut-off in Capgemini's technical assessment. In-hand is approximately ₹42,000 to ₹50,000 per month. Not available to every campus or every batch year. When offered, it represents Capgemini selecting stronger technical profiles for digital and cloud practice areas.

Senior Analyst (selective): ₹7.5 LPA. Reserved for top performers from select campuses, typically those with strong DSA scores, cloud certifications, or specific domain skills. In-hand is approximately ₹55,000 to ₹65,000 per month. A small proportion of total fresher hires.

Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET): ₹4.2 to ₹5 LPA. A slightly different designation used for some engineering graduates that maps to the same A4 or slightly higher band.

Non-tech roles (BPS, process associate, operations): ₹2.8 to ₹3.4 LPA. These are for B.Com, BBA, and B.Sc graduates joining business process functions.

One thing Capgemini's own literature confirms and other salary blogs consistently get wrong: Elevate (Capgemini's upskilling program) does not automatically translate to a CTC increase at joining. It affects your learning pathway and project deployment, not your starting band. Do not confuse an Elevate enrolment with a salary offer.

Role-Wise Salary Across Experience Levels

From Weekday verified salary data and AmbitionBox submissions:

Software Engineer (0 to 5 years): ₹5.1 to ₹5.6 LPA average per AmbitionBox
‍Senior Software Engineer (1 to 5 years): ₹5.7 to ₹6.2 LPA
‍Software Developer (1 to 7 years): ₹8.5 to ₹9.4 LPA
‍Data Engineer (1 to 7 years): ₹8.1 to ₹8.9 LPA
‍DevOps Engineer (1 to 7 years): ₹7.2 to ₹8 LPA
‍Software Test Engineer (1 to 6 years): ₹7.3 to ₹8.1 LPA
‍Senior System Engineer (5 years): ₹16 LPA fixed per Weekday
‍Technical Lead (6 years): ₹23.1 LPA fixed. At 8 years: ₹23 to ₹30 LPA
‍Senior Consultant C1 (4 to 12 years): ₹16.8 to ₹18.6 LPA per AmbitionBox
‍Lead Consultant (8 years): ₹40 LPA per Weekday data
‍Software Engineering Manager (11 years): ₹80 LPA
‍Lead Development Engineer / Architect (11 years): ₹38.5 LPA

The Weekday average across all Capgemini India employees is approximately ₹18.35 LPA, with a range from ₹2 LPA to ₹94 LPA depending on role and seniority. The top 10% earn more than ₹28 LPA.

For freshers specifically, Weekday shows backend, frontend, and full stack developer starting salaries averaging ₹7.59 to ₹8.76 LPA. This is notably higher than the A4 Analyst band of ₹4 LPA. The discrepancy is because Weekday's fresher dataset skews toward lateral and off-campus hires with specific technical skills, not mass campus placements. Both numbers are real for different hiring channels.

The Capgemini Band Structure

Capgemini uses a career band system that looks different from TCS and Infosys but serves the same purpose:

A-band (Analyst, A1 to A4): Entry to early career. A4 is where most freshers join. A1 and A2 are higher within the analyst band for candidates with specialised skills.

B-band (Consultant, B1 to B4): Mid-level. Associate Consultant and Consultant roles. Salary ranges from ₹12 to ₹22 LPA depending on which B-level you are at.

C-band (Senior Consultant, C1 and above): Senior individual contributor and project leadership roles. C1 runs ₹16.8 to ₹18.6 LPA per AmbitionBox. Technical Lead roles at this level reach ₹23 to ₹30 LPA.

D-band and above (Manager, Senior Manager, Director, VP): ₹25 LPA and above. Senior Manager and Director roles push ₹40 to ₹80 LPA. VP roles reach ₹94 LPA.

Promotions between bands drive the most meaningful salary increases, exactly as at TCS and Infosys. Annual increments within a band are 8 to 15% for average to strong performers. A band promotion brings a jump that no number of annual increments match.

Capgemini Salary After 3 Years

For an Analyst (₹4 LPA) joiner with average performance and no promotion in three years: salary reaches ₹5 to ₹5.8 LPA. Hike percentages at Capgemini run 10 to 12% for average performers and 15 to 20% for strong performers based on employee reports.

For an Analyst who receives a promotion to Associate Consultant (B-band) at year two or three: salary jumps to ₹10 to ₹14 LPA. This is where the meaningful growth happens.

For a Senior Analyst (₹7.5 LPA) joiner with one promotion: ₹12 to ₹16 LPA by year three.

Capgemini also runs off-cycle raises for employees in cloud, AI, cybersecurity, and data engineering roles where attrition is high. If you are in these practice areas and have a competing offer, Capgemini has shown willingness to match or exceed to retain the talent.

Capgemini vs TCS vs Infosys vs Accenture

At the fresher level, Capgemini Analyst (₹4 to ₹4.25 LPA) sits broadly in line with TCS Ninja (₹3.36 LPA) and Infosys SE (₹3.6 to ₹4.5 LPA). Accenture ASE (₹4.6 LPA average) edges above all three.

At the Senior Analyst level (₹7.5 LPA), Capgemini is competitive with TCS Digital (₹7.3 LPA) and Infosys DSE (₹6.25 to ₹7 LPA) and slightly above Accenture's digital fresher entry.

At mid level with 5 to 6 years, Capgemini technical roles run ₹13 to ₹23 LPA per Weekday data. This is broadly comparable to Accenture and slightly above TCS and Infosys for equivalent designations.

At senior consultant and technical lead level, Capgemini's C-band and D-band roles (₹23 to ₹55 LPA) are competitive with consulting-track equivalents at Accenture and Deloitte.

What all four companies share: mid-level salaries are 40 to 60% below product company equivalents at the same experience level.

Making the Move From Capgemini to a Product Company

The pattern holds across all IT services companies. A mid-level engineer at Capgemini earning ₹14 to ₹18 LPA is looking at product companies paying ₹22 to ₹38 LPA for the same experience.

The interview bar at a product company is different. DSA at medium to hard difficulty, system design at scale, and language-specific depth. Capgemini's internal work rarely prepares engineers for these. The gap between what you know and how you perform it under real interview conditions is what mock interviews close.

At Intervue.io, mock interviews are one-on-one with engineers from product companies and FAANG who give you specific feedback on what needs to change.
